The image on the left is Kate Moss Wearing John Galliano on the cover of Another Magazine; the image on the right is a Viktor and Rolf garment. I particularly like the delicate look of the fabric manipulation on both these garments however they are both yet so different looking.
The way in which different fabrics react to different manipulation really interested me this summer, and thinking of ways in which to alter the fabric in a unique way.

Katie Eary inspires me due to the use of colours she uses and vibrant patterns, the luminous colours she uses in her autumn/winter 2010, Shock you when you first see them, I feel this is because garments are not usually in these colours.
I also liked her spring summer 2010 range due to it also being unusual, and the shapes in which she has created on simple garments.

I took the image on the right, whilst walking past a fence panel that’s paint had started to erode away.
I particularly like the texture, which creates; it is a similar texture to the Paper t-shirt by Maison Martin Margiela.
I feel this texture could be used in very interesting way, with different materials.
With the Different materials Creating different effects.

Nikki Farquharson is an Illustrator who creates brightly coloured mixed media pieces using mainly pens and paper.
I like how she makes 2D images appear 3D. I believe she does this due to her use of several mass patterns in one image.
I particularly like how in some of her project she has missed facial features out, this gives the image a stronger impact.

Egon Schiele is an Austrian painter, who was a protégé of Gustav Klimt.
I find his image very sinister, due to colours he uses and the appearance of their eyes.
I like the sketchy outlines of his images; and the blotchy application of colour in his images.

Poetic Punk,
Images were features on fashion156.com.
The ones around the edges are from a make up article,
However I like how strong the make up makes the models features sound out.
The Image in the middle is from Commes Des Garcon spring summer 2011.

Restricting fashion.
I have been looking at how different styles of silhouette alteration, restricts the body movement.
The image on the left is by Hussein Chalayan for his autumn 2007, restricts the movement of the neck, however the dress is really strong and powerful even though it is in a plain colour.
The image on the right is by Viktor and Rolf, this also restricts the movement of the neck but in a different way, instead of using strong material it uses layers of soft fabric.

Nagi Noda is a Japanese art director who created 15 headpieces inspired by creatures such as Rabbits, lion and bears for and exhibition.
Throughout researching for the project of cool I have been hugely interested in the alteration of the silhouette.
I find these headpieces hugely dramatic due to the fact with how closely they resemble the animal they are meant to be.

Marlene Dumas is a South African artist.
Dumas paints her subjects at extreme points in life’s cycle, emphasizing on classical modes of representation in western art.
Dumas uses the human figure as a means to critique contemporary ideas of racial, sexual and social identity.
I feel this could be applied to fashion by creating androgyny silhouettes.

Another set of images including silhouette-altering garments,  these were featured in The Shining Edition on Fashion156.com
The dress on the top is  Metal Skirt and Leather Bodice, both by Gemma Slack.  With the Shoes by Topshop Unique.
The Bottom Image is Dress with sequin shoulder detail by Manjit Deu.
I also like the effects created in the photographer, which gives the illusion of more volume and an altered silhouette.

These Images are from War hero on dazed digital.
I found these images very moving, due to the dramatic make up and stern faces.
The garments on the left are Jacket by Calvin Klein; chainmail vest by Roberto Cavalli; hat from Reworks; metal harness by Bliss Lau;
Bullet corset by The Blonds
And the garments on the right are Body cast by Una Burke
Trousers by Topman Design; belt by D&G .

These images are from when Noki presented his catwalk show on the main stage at Lovebox festival.
Designer Noki has been producing street couture for over ten years.
The Show was opened with a montage of archive film showing Noki’s last eight years in fashion.
The show uses vintage garments and dead stock to create stunning pieces exploding with attitude.
I love the vibrant colours and exceptional headpieces with the unique ideology.

These are images are by British Artist Damien Hirst.
I like the way in these images he has mixed morbid with the pretty.
The patterns in images could easily transfer to fabric.

Whilst in London I visited the Maison Martin Margiela’s 20 exhibition at Somerset house,
I’d never seen his work before and found the concepts very interesting,
Such as the recycled garments, using items such as lots of pair of leather gloves in their original structure to create a completely different garment.
In the image on the right I like how the different layers and tones of denim create the effect of more volume.

I Found these Images On Dazed Digital.
The article was called balletic, which was celebrating raw edges and powdery textures.
The Pale Pink T- shirt is made of paper, created by Maison Martin Margiela.
With the knitted jumper and leggings being created by Gareth Pugh.
I found these images interesting because the way in which texture is created.

Francoise Nielly is a French artist
These images inspired me due to the application of the vivid colours.
I find the use of the unusual colours as skin tone very inspiring.
I feel this could be transferred to fashion due to unusual ways in which colour could be applied to fabrics.

Asger Juel Larsen graduated in 2009 from London College Of Fashion,
The Images included are from Larsen’s spring / summer collection which reflects high masculinity, with a medieval warfare theme.
With this creating a futuristic adaption of armour and chain mail.
Whilst experimenting with the silhouette, morphing conflicting ideas of voluminous and slim.
The collection features Leather, PVC, Rubber Cords and Knitwear.
I particularly like his style due to it seeming dark and mysterious.

Minjae Lee is an Korean Illustrator.
His images consist of abstract movements and vibrant colours.
Some of his images appear to be very sinister, with a select few appearing to be made with mixed media.
The image on the left; seems to feature demons escaping from someone’s mind.
I like how the artist has used unusual colours for skin instead of the usual tones.
